We all know that Kendrick Lamar won best rap album for To Pimp A Butterfly last month at the Grammys, and I have to give him his due for what he’s done for the game!
Definitely the most successful mainstream rapper in the present day, and yet, I’m not all gaga over the album to be honest.
In fact, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City was way better conceptually and in terms of music, (truly deserving of the rap-grammy over Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’, Heist in 2014), and even better than that IMO was Section 80, for me as a hip-hop head, and not according to the industry and its far removed critics.
Well not to digress any further, but surprise, surprise: Kendrick Lamar a day or two ago released an eight track release of demos from To Pimp A Butterfly in raw form – unfinished, untitled, and unmastered.
