Talib Kweli & 9th Wonder – Great Day In The Mourning Ft. Add-2

Two dope-ass, independent hip-hop labels, spearheaded by Talib Kweli’s, Javotti Media, and 9th Wonder’s, Jamla Records, have allowed their much anticipated project, Indie 500 to be streamed on SoundCloud, before the official November 6th release date.

And with a string of lyrical features from both record labels, Rapsody, Add-2, Niko Is, GQ, and including rap-veteran, Pharoahe Monch, this album is stacked with talent, and not to discount the seasoned production of 9th Wonder, and his production mates, Khrysis, Nottz, Eric G, and E. Jones.

This collaboration is a commited involvement from the best from both record labels, and it’s nice to witness the culmination of the independent hip-hop scene (like it should be).

And lastly, with regards to this specific joint, the bars are on point as you’d expect from the lyrical maestro, Talib Kweli, as he celebrates the legacy of the past-ones; and wish Add-2’s verse was longer – he was spittin fire at the end.
