Trump cuts 'disaster' court out of trans military ruling

The Pentagon initially lifted its ban on transgender troops serving openly in the military in 2016 under the orders of the Obama administration.

Francisco asked the nine justices on Friday to circumvent that process, saying the administration can't afford to wait for lower courts to decide, the Washington Post reported Friday. That is why Washington has asked the court on Friday to examine that case.

This upsurge in petitions for certiorari before final judgment is attributed to the rapid increase of district judges with liberal judicial philosophies issuing nationwide injunctions over the past two years, essentially blocking entire federal policies. Francisco urged the court to grant all three cases, hear them together and issue a decision by the end of the term.

Trump's proposed transgender military ban is just one of the anti-trans measures his administration has tried to introduce since he was elected president.

A federal judge has barred the Trump administration from refusing asylum to immigrants who cross the southern border illegally. District Court in San Francisco issued a temporary nationwide restraining order barring enforcement of the policy.

Under Trump's plan, transgender people would only be allowed to serve in the military in "limited circumstances".

Trump's repeated attempts to implement his transgender military ban have been widely condemned, with critics describing the move as inherently discriminatory.

The goal isn't to go out there and try to get as many wins as you can", Smith told The Athletic . The Cavs are 2-13 and franchise player Kevin Love is out indefinitely following toe surgery.

In the summer of 2017, Trump announced that he no longer wanted to allow transgender people to any post in the army.

"There is absolutely no support for the claim that the ongoing service of transgender people would have any negative effect on the military at all. In fact, there is considerable evidence that it is the discharge and banning of such individuals that would have such effects". The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments in one challenge earlier this fall and the DC Circuit will hear arguments in early December. The Supreme Court denied that request. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District Circuit is scheduled to hear an appeal of the ruling next month. Several lawsuits were filed over the administration's policy change, with lower courts all ruling against the Trump administration. Further, the administration has never demonstrated the size of those costs or how they are prohibitive for the USA military's $52 billion health budget. It seems the Trump administration can't wait to discriminate. At an especially sensitive moment for the Supreme Court, the Trump administration is "forcing it into a minefield that many justices would nearly surely prefer to avoid", Matz said. "There is no valid reason to jump the line now and seek US Supreme Court review before the appellate courts have even ruled on the preliminary issues before them". The administration argues that such cases can only be settled by the high court. Coming the day after the president turned a Thanksgiving message to troops into a complaint about his own losses in federal court, it is clear the administration is growing ever more desperate to undermine the law and insert prejudice and hate into our armed forces.
