Manafort denies meeting with WikiLeaks' Assange as Mueller zeroes in

Trump Slams Mueller Says Probe Has Cost Tens of Millions to Find No Collusion

Barry Pollack, a Washington-based lawyer for Assange, said he expected Ecuador to "comply with its obligations" to preserve asylum for him, though he acknowledged a concern that the county could revoke his asylum, expel him from the embassy and facilitate an extradition to the U.S. "I have never met Julian Assange or anyone connected to him", Manafort said in the statement.

One of the alleged meetings took place around March 2016, the time Manafort began leading Donald Trump's presidential campaign.

Instead of citing official logs, the Guardian's latest reporting relies heavily on SENAIN's document, which critics argued is questionable at best given that SENAIN may have political motivations to discredit WikiLeaks for publishing secret agency documents in the past. @WikiLeaks is willing to bet the Guardian a million dollars and its editor's head that Manafort never met Assange.

Hill Reporter reached out to WikiLeaks for clarification on these comments, but as of the time of this publication we have yet to hear back.

A decision whether to unseal US government charges against Julian Assange was delayed for a week by Judge Leonie Brinkema in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia on Tuesday.

Manafort says in a statement that a Guardian report saying he met with Assange at the Ecuadorian embassy is "totally false and deliberately libelous".

Paul Manafort met in secret multiple times with Julian Assange before the Wikileaks founder published emails that were the product of Russian hacking, according to The Guardian. In an apparent reference to recent accusations against Paul Manafort, he slammed Mueller for allegedly ruining the lives of people who 'refuse to lie [for him]'.

The Special Counsel is expected to finalize a report in the coming months on the findings of his 18-month probe into Russia's election meddling and possible collusion with the Trump campaign.

Trump's ban on giving asylum to illegal migrants temporarily blocked by judge
A federal judge has barred the Trump administration from refusing asylum to immigrants who cross the southern border illegally. District Court in San Francisco issued a temporary nationwide restraining order barring enforcement of the policy.

Manafort has a history of lying in this case and was convicted of lying to banks and the government.

"For things that have to do with Mr. Manafort, I refer you to his attorneys to address that", Sanders said.

He then launched into an attack on Mueller's investigation and team of prosecutors, who he claimed are unduly coercing Manafort.

Also fueling that discussion has been Trump himself, who has used his Twitter account to inveigh against Mueller and his office and what Trump calls the "Justice" Department - with sarcasm quotes. However, the timing is suspicious as his last visit, in March 2016, came just months before WikiLeaks released of a stash of Democratic emails stolen by Russian intelligence officers.
