"....this appeal is allowed".

"The judgement of the High Court and that of the trial court is reversed", said Chief Justice Saqib Nasar, as he ordered Bibi's release unless she is required on any other charges. "Her conviction is set aside", said Justice Nisar in the ruling.

Further, Justice Khosa "because of some important legal and factual issues involved in the case" chose to record his separate concurring opinion which stated that the prosecution had failed to prove its case against Asia Bibi beyond a reasonable doubt.

Bibi, 54, has been on death row since 2010 after being accused of insulting Islam's Prophet Muhammed.

Mother-of-three Asia Bibi, 47, was convicted in November 2010 for allegedly defaming Prophet Muhammad.

The Pakistani Supreme Court will decide Wednesday whether Asia Bibi will live or be executed.

According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, the man was house-sitting for his parents Tuesday night when he discovered the spiders. The young man also managed to escape the blaze which took place in the Woodward Lake housing development unscathed.

To this, Justice Khosa had remarked, "From your statements we have gathered that the Imam himself did not witness the incident as it happened and no blasphemous words were said in his presence".

On a hot day in 2009, Bibi went to get water for her and her fellow farmworkers. Her Muslim colleagues accused her of contaminating the water because she was a Christian.

Ms. Bibi has always denied blaspheming.

The top court had first taken up the appeal in October 2016, but had to adjourn the matter without hearing after one of the judges recused himself from the SC bench.

At the Supreme Court hearing earlier this month - a hearing our legal team on the ground in Pakistan attended - Asia Bibi's defense attorney in Pakistan called much of the prosecution's evidence - or lack thereof - into question.

Ms Bibi's lawyer Saiful Mulook told Reuters: "It is great news for Pakistan and rest of the world".

On Twitter, a video circulated that showed young men on bikes riding through a dark road and shouting slogans, calling for the death of Asia Bibi.

Mere calls to reform the law have provoked violence, most notably the assassination of Salmaan Taseer, the governor of Pakistan's most populous province Punjab, by his own bodyguard in broad daylight in Islamabad in 2011.

The assassin, Mumtaz Qadri, has been celebrated as a martyr by hard-liners since he was hanged for the killing, with millions visiting a shrine set up for him near Islamabad.

His announcement is a victory for human rights activists, who say religious minorities in Pakistan are routinely targeted and baseless allegations of blasphemy levied against them to settle personal vendettas.

The women said her faith had made a cup she used unclean and she should convert to Islam.

Internationally, Bibi's case has generated outrage.
