Nevertheless, claiming his administration is among the upper echelon of Presidential administrations is certainly a bold one, and it was met with a very different reaction to his foreign counterparts yesterday.

"While they espouse a belief in the sovereignty of nations, they also acknowledge that there are instances where another nation's reliance on the United States for military protection or economic ties presents an opportunity for the United States to have legitimate grievances about those policies that they pursue that are counter to USA interests", he added.

"But we ask the United States of America to adhere to laws and respect national sovereignty of nations", he said.

"The United States will not tell you how to live or work or worship", Trump told the global assembly. "We thank the United States for working with us so we don't fall into the same traps going forward".

He also touted progress made on border security and denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula. That view did not necessarily have much support from the leaders from the U.N.'s 192 other countries, however.

Early in his speech to the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Trump boasted that his administration had accomplished more than nearly any other in U.S. history, prompting laughter from world leaders and diplomats in attendance. Given Trump's smile, it's possible he couldn't quite parse why his colleagues were laughing in the moment. But the president appeared somewhat deflated after that, even as he faithfully recited lines from the teleprompters.

Donald Trump: 'Pray for Brett Kavanaugh and His Family!'
He said Ford has not filed a complaint with local authorities in Maryland - where the FBI would start an investigation. Susan Collins of ME , one of the undecided Republicans, said she will be "glued to the television" during the hearing.

"They're denuclearising North Korea".

The broadside against Iran was emblematic of Trump's willingness to go it alone on the world stage to advance what he sees as US interests, a central theme of his speech to the general assembly.

After a historic summit with Kim in Singapore in June, however, Trump publicly thanked Kim for his "courage and the steps he has taken".

"Dressing up his foreign policy, however, is not going to allay widespread concerns about US withdrawal from global governance", Ferrier said.

Political commentators widely noted that it was remarkable for a United States president to be laughed at by members of the assembly, without having provided an intentional punchline.

"In the years since the deal was signed, Iran's aggression only increased", Trump said.

Russian Federation to Supply New S-300 Missile Defense System to Syria
Putin also spoke by phone with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to discuss the move. Israeli military officials have previously praised the hotline's effectiveness.

Trump also accused Iran, along with Russian Federation, of enabling President Bashar Al-Assad to carry out his "butchery" in Syria.

"Iran's leaders sow chaos, death and destruction", Trump told the gathering in the green-marbled hall.

"The United States has launched a campaign of economic pressure to deny the regime the funds it needs to advance its bloody agenda", he said.

Asked if the United States' pulling out of the Iran deal could be a serious challenge to the US dollar as reserve currency in the context of the creation of the SPV, Mogherini said "it is still an initial stage, but this could be a result of that".

On Venezuela, Trump denounced the socialist government of President Nicolás Maduro, whose oppressive leadership has resulted in a collapse of the nation's economy and a massive human rights crisis as hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans have fled the country.

Trump himself shifted gears at the meeting, from bashing the Iran nuclear deal and destabilizing regional behavior to praising Iran, Syria and Russian Federation for agreeing this month to halt an anticipated offensive on the northwest Syrian province of Idlib - and seemed to credit himself for their restraint.
