Speaking in hushed tones and short sentences, the Giants' cornerback talked about the issues surrounding Ohio State, where wide receivers coach Zach Smith was sacked and head coach Urban Meyer is on paid administrative leave in the wake of a bombshell report that Meyer knew about domestic violence allegations dating back to 2015 involving his assistant coach.

A contract extension given to Ohio State coach Urban Meyer in March could provide grounds for the university to fire him over the handling of a longtime assistant accused of domestic violence.

Meyer said he and athletic director Gene Smith agree that being on leave during the inquiry was best for the investigation and the team.

While speaking with reporters at training camp, Apple described Meyer's administrative leave and the investigation as "unfortunate".

U.S. issues sanctions over jailed pastor Andrew Brunson
Anticipation of the USA sanctions had already helped to send the Turkish lira to an all-time low against the dollar on Wednesday. He stands accused of carrying out activities on behalf of two organisations Ankara considers terror groups.

At the Big Ten Media Days in Chicago last week, Urban said he knew about the domestic violence allegations against Zach in 2009 but not 2015.

When Meyer was hired by the Buckeyes, Smith again joined the staff as a receivers coach and ace recruiter. But Meyer said he knew nothing of the 2015 abuse allegations until the day he let Smith go.

Meyer said at an appearance in July that he was not aware of the situation until recently, CBS Sports reports.

Smith was sacked July 23 after reports surfaced that his ex-wife filed an order of protection against him.

Backing off auto tariffs, U.S. and European Union agree to more talks
But an European Union official told reporters it will be up to the markets to decide whether to buy more United States goods. He has slapped taxes on imported steel and aluminium, saying they pose a threat to U.S. national security.

From making sure every minute of practice is accounted for to fretting over what players are putting in their bodies at the dining hall, no detail is too small for a coach's prying eyes. "No, and I asked some people back at the office to call and say what happened and they came back and said they know nothing about it".
