Paula Godwin said she and her dogs were out hiking in Anthem, Arizona when she nearly stepped on the venomous serpent. But, their casual hike took an unexpected turn as they were walking down a hill. "But my hero of a puppy Todd saved me", she wrote. What a courageous boy! Godwin rushed Todd to a local animal hospital where he was treated for the bite.

Money is now being raised on Todd's behalf to provide financial help to other dogs bitten by poisonous snakes in the area.

Todd has recovered well, and his swelling has gone down, according to Godwin.
