Embattled FBI Agent Peter Strzok Defiantly Defends Himself at Heated House Hearing

After Blowing Off Subpoena FBI Lawyer Lisa Page Will Testify to Congress Friday

Strzok, who has come under scrutiny for anti-Trump text messages with an Federal Bureau of Investigation lawyer with whom he was having an affair, testified in a marathon hearing before a pair of House committees on Thursday.

In one text exchange, Page wrote to Strzok about Trump: "He's not ever going to become president, right?" Strzok and Page were texting because they were clandestinely dating, because that is how clandestinely dating people act.

"You have to treat him and any witness before this committee with respect", the New York Democrat warned at the beginning of Thursday's crud-pit of a congressional hearing.

"I don't think you'll have any 'Gee, I did it, I did it, you got me, '" Trump said Friday morning before the indictments were announced.

Goodlatte threatened to hold Strzok in contempt at the end of the hearing if he did not answer Gowdy's question.

Democratic Representative Luis Gutierrez said when it was his turn to question Strzok: "Congratulations Kremlin, and congratulations to everyone who is helping them".

George Clooney Injured in Scooter Accident on Sardinia
Catch 22 was written by Luke Davies and David Michôd and is based on the Joseph Heller novel with the same title. He suffered just a few minor injuries in the accident and was released from the hospital after just two hours.

The Russian intelligence officers were charged with hacking the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign - the latest charges brought in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election.

None of the lawmakers, members of the House Oversight and House Judiciary committees, would speak about the content of their conversations with Page, though they generally believed a transcript of the interview should be publicly released.

Strzok was reassigned from the Russian Federation investigation.

The hearing exposed clear partisan divides in the House judiciary and oversight committees, as Democrats accused Republicans of trying to divert attention from Trump's ties to Russian Federation by excessively focusing on Strzok.

This is Strzok responding to Republican lawmakers questioning him about one of the messages.

This is why the whole argument against Strzok and the FBI is absurd: Strzok and colleagues could have doomed Trump with one phone call, leaking the investigation into possible collusion with Russian Federation.

U.S. steps up China trade spat with $200bn new tariffs
The tariffs could take effect after public consultations end on August 30, according to a statement from the U.S. President Donald Trump last month threatened additional tariffs against China if it retaliated.

The exchange may well come across like two people trying to torpedo a presidential candidate, but honestly I think it's just as likely we'd learn, with more text messages, that "the country" is a pet nickname Strzok once gave to Page's bellybutton.

Strzok said "based on that terrible, disgusting behavior", he assumed Trump would not win the election.

"There is new information we've been able to gain today", Representative Mark Meadows said of the closed-interview, which lasted about four hours.

Rep. Scott DesJarlais, R-Tenn., who needled Strzok about "text messages with your friend".

"Let me be clear, unequivocally and under oath: Not once in my 26 years of defending my nation did my personal opinions impact any official action I took", Strzok told the committees.

On Friday, Page will sit down with the House Judiciary and House Oversight and Government Reform Committees, which have sought her testimony for seven months. "But", he said, "the thought of exposing that information never crossed my mind".
