The "County Fire" that initially burned in Yolo County and has now spread to neighboring Napa and Lake Counties has grown in just a span of three days. Heavy smoke can be seen across the Bay Area, as far west as Petaluma and as far south as San Francisco and Redwood City.

Even though residents in San Francisco and some East Bay areas saw orange-colored fog on Sunday, with ash on vehicles and patio furniture, no Bay Area community had air quality that exceeded federal health standards on Saturday, Sunday or Monday, Fasano said.

Complicating matters, the wildfire raging in Southern Colorado has made repairs to the infrastructure that was destroyed by the fire days ago hard to reach.

With more people living in harm's way and the costs of fire suppression spiraling up, it's hard to ignore the fact that the vast majority of wildfires are human-caused.
