Donald Trump said on Friday that Michael Cohen, now under investigation, is no longer his personal attorney.

The motion for a restraining order, filed late Thursday in U.S. District Court in California by Michael Cohen, accuses Avenatti of having a "seemingly unquenchable thirst for publicity" and argues that his frequent Twitter postings and TV appearances violate California rules of professional conduct for lawyers.

They say the haul of records included more than a dozen pages of shredded documents that have now been reconstructed and hundreds of pages of encrypted messages.

Last month, US District Court Judge Kimba Wood gave Cohen's legal team a June 15 deadline to complete their review of materials they had received through the end of May. Trump has denied her allegations.

Cohen has not been criminally charged, but a source familiar with the investigation told Reuters in April that the federal prosecutors are investigating him for possible bank and tax fraud, a possible campaign law violations connected with a payment to Stormy Daniels and matters concerning Russian's alleged support of Trump's campaign.

Barbara Jones, the retired judge who was named special master in the case, cited the "substantial progress and diligent effort" by lawyers for Cohen, Trump and the president's company, the Trump Organization, in reviewing the documents.
