Japan earthquake: Death toll climbs after 6.1 temblor strikes Osaka

The magnitude 6.1 quake struck shortly after 8am north of Osaka at a depth of about 13 kilometres (8 miles), the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

Toshiyuki Matsumori, of the country's meteorological agency, said: "There are fears that the risk of house collapses and landslides has increased in the areas shaken strongly".
