WE'VE no doubt that the Saturday explosion at Zanu PF's campaign rally at White City Stadium in Bulawayo, which has claimed two lives so far, took the majority of Zimbabwe's war-weary citizens by surprise, given the relative peace that had obtained in the country prior to the incident. Mr. Mnangagwa has called for calm after the blast which went off "inches" away from him.

He has pledged to hold free and fair elections as he seeks to mend global relations and have sanctions against Zimbabwe dropped.

"My fellow Zimbabweans, in November we all came together motivated by a dream of a democratic and prosperous Zimbabwe, a peaceful Zimbabwe though it has not been easy over the past seven months we have marched together step by step towards this dream", he said.

"Its just an element of defeatists in the struggle of freedom".

The device offered pure stock Android , unlike other Xiaomi phones which are considered to be bloated due to Xiaomi's stock MIUI. Xiaomi is releasing the new phone in two RAM variants, 3GB and 4GB and the internal storage also has two options 32GB and 64GB.

Police originally said 49 people had been injured at the rally, the first in Bulawayo by 75-year-old Mnangagwa in his campaign for presidential and parliamentary elections on July 30.

The president "will not be driven by vengefulness or a spirit of retribution", his spokesman, George Charamba, told the state-run Sunday Mail newspaper.

State television ZBC said 42 people were injured in the explosion, six of them seriously. Health Minister David Parirenyatwa said some of the injured had serious stomach wounds. Mugabe later said he felt betrayed by Mnangagwa, who lived in the shadows of his former boss for almost 50 years.

Chamisa condemned the attack, tweeting that "violence must have no place in our politics".

She said comprehensive investigations are underway on the blast which occurred shortly after Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa had finished addressing the rally.

Twenty-three candidates have registered to contest the election and Mnangagwa has promised a free and fair vote.

"Let me make it very clear that nothing will stop the elections in Zimbabwe, nothing at all", Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, who was lightly bruised in Saturday's blast, told a rally outside the capital, Harare.
