Apple's upcoming iOS 12 release will feature a new app that will be a must-have for designers and scrapbookers alike.

Details of the iOS 12 software update - available later this month in public beta form - were announced Monday at Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference, or WWDC18, at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California.

Apple's new Screentime app will allow users to see detailed reports about how often they use their iPhone and which apps they use most frequently. Parents will be able to choose times when certain apps or app categories can't be used. Apple has announced the new iOS version and also disclosed that the new update will be available to all devices which now have iOS 11. The update, which includes a host of new features, will track your screen time, with an eye on improving user health and wellbeing. At its recent I/O developer conference, Google revealed a bunch of new features available in the OS.

In taking aim at Facebook, Apple has explicitly signalled that it is against ad-based tracking across the web and that it's willing to do something about it. Federighi says the snooping warning, which will be present in Apple's Safari browser on iPhone, iPad and Mac, will target Like buttons, share buttons and comment fields that are added to websites from third-parties. The app allows the user to accurately measure the size of objects and items around them via AR. Adobe will also add native USDZ support for Creative Cloud suite.

Explosion rocks Hawaii's Kilauea volcano, sending ash 1 mile high
At least 87 homes have been destroyed by the Kilauea volcano eruption in the four weeks since lava began flowing from its summit. Last Sunday, the USGS piloted a drone to help an emergency crew navigate the harrowing landscape to save a life.

Some of the other changes and new features that Apple has introduced in iOS 12 include new Animoji options which introduces the koala, tiger, ghost, and T. rex.

Many pointed out the obvious, which is: who among us even has 31 people to chat with in the first place??

To more cheers from developers, Apple also announced a redesigned Mac App Store for the Mojave update, expanding a new look the company introduced to iPhones and iPads past year.

It's also thought Apple will be focusing on making its popular operating system even more stable and secure.

Syrian government seeks to recapture southwest, foreign minister says
The rocket attacks have continued for two months while Israel has reportedly launched strikes on Iranian positions in Syria. The cease-fire means the Syrian rebels have continued to control an area along the Golan and Jordan's border.

New exercises are now also recognised by the Watch, including yoga and hiking, while a Walkie-Talkie app will allow users to speak to each other through their watch. In iOS 12, animoji have tongue detection.

Where Apple's effort seems to shine over Samsung's take is that you can customize your avatar's looks with a ton of diverse parts.

The announcement is Apple's most significant counter yet to Facebook's data collection practices, and comes after years in which Apple executives have criticized Facebook as reckless with user privacy. Finally, if you're trying to get into shape watchOS can help with that too.

There are a lot of iOS 12 features that Apple didn't talk about on stage yesterday but are noteworthy.

Mandatory evacuation ordered as Hawaii eruption hits 4-week mark
At least 51 homes have been destroyed since the volcanic emergency began, and more than 2,000 people have fled the area. Officials say there was no release of any risky hydrogen sulfide gas after lava crept over the plugged wells Sunday.

Apple is also redesigning the macOS App Store to take design cues from the iOS store, bringing a unified design to all its platforms. However, the iOS lock screen will still only show you notifications once, which isn't terribly useful.
