A severe USA storm has hit Ellicott City in Maryland causing shocking damage including a 30-foot-wide hole in the centre of the area. Searchers scouring the Patapsco River near the historic town said Tuesday, May 29, that they have found Hermond's body.

Volunteers and crews with trained dogs had been searching for Eddison Hermond, 39, who disappeared Sunday afternoon following the torrential rains that flooded historic Ellicott City for the second time in less than two years.

It is really truly devastating and I would say it is as bad or worse than the storm two years ago.

"There are a lot of people whose lives are going to be devastated again, and they've been working so hard to come back", Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman said. The heavy Memorial Day weekend storm created flash floods that sent cars floating down Main Street.
