More than hundred shops and several vehicles were burnt across the city as violet mob took to streets. Internet services have also been blocked as a precautionary measure. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has condemned the situation and Minister of State for Home Deepak Kesarkar has left to visit the area, to survey the damage done to the people and the physical property.

At least 51 people including 10 police officials were injured in the riots. Few incidents of stone pelting were reported as well.

One of the deceased was a 17-year-old youth who allegedly died in police firing, while the other was a 65-year-old man who was trapped in his house when an adjoining shop was set on fire by rioters, the official said.

According to ANI, clashes broke out when the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation cut water connection in the area, including one of the religious places, owing to non-clearance of bills after which things took a violent turn.
