Average sleep duration at weekends and the percentage of those saying they did not feel rested at waking, did fall with age.

It followed 43,000 people over the course of 13 years.

Swedish and United States researchers claim that sleeping in on weekends might not be such a bad thing, adding a couple of could of years to our lifespans especially if you don't get enough rest during the other days of the week.

"The results imply that short (weekday) sleep is not a risk factor for mortality if it is combined with a medium or long weekend sleep", the researchers wrote in the study.

Irish turn attention to parliament as abortion ban voted out
Younger voters showed more support for overturning the amendment than older voters, according to RTÉ exit poll projections. The DUP MP Jim Shannon said: "We have a Northern Ireland assembly that has been in limbo for 18 months".

"Short sleep (or long sleep) on both weekdays and weekend showed increased mortality".

"If somebody is routinely awake for more than 18 hours daily, then they are also routinely sleeping for less than six hours daily", explained Dr. Klerman.

Curiously, after the age of 65, there is no relationship between sleep duration and mortality.

For people under the age of 65, getting five hours of sleep or less nightly during the week was connected with a 50 percent higher likelihood of death compared to getting the recommended seven hours of sleep.

Yanny Vs. Laurel: A Neuroscientist Weighs In
When the clip played on a computer at his school, Szabo said his classmates were on both sides of the pronunciation of the word. She said she heard laurel . "I'd like to declare something that is just so obvious, it is Laurel and not Yanny ", he said.

He thinks a lot of people may relate to sleeping less during the week and, at the very least, may want to have an excuse for sleeping in on their days off. "Perhaps it's giving them hope that this habit is in some way good for them".
