Hawaii volcano eruption: drone video shows Mount Kilaueu spewing lava

The eruption of Kilauea Volcano on Hawaii's Big Island has spewed vast amounts of lava for more than three days and nights.

Hundreds of small earthquakes continued to rumble through the area Saturday, one day after a magnitude-6.9 temblor hit - the largest quake to hit Hawaii in more than 40 years.

Lava has flowed across nearly 400,000 square feet and experts are not sure when the volcanic activity will stop.

The volcanic instability at Kilauea, one of the world's most active volcanoes and Hawaii Island's youngest, began on Monday underneath the eastern flank of the volcano, an area known as the East Rift Zone. "As long as that supply is there, the eruption will continue", U.S. Geological Survey volcanologist Wendy Stovall said.
