Since then, the special counsel has provided more details in an effort to convince Trump's lawyers to agree to an interview.

Trump has zeroed in on, and at times embellished, reports that a longtime us government informant approached members of his campaign in a possible bid to glean intelligence on Russian efforts to sway the election.

The mere existence of a government informant in an investigation doesn't mean a probe is tainted.

Trump and his supporters have cast the apparent informant as a mole possibly sent by the Obama administration to burrow into his campaign.

After Democratic complaints and negotiations that went into the evening Wednesday, the Justice Department said it would hold a second classified briefing the same day and invite the Gang of Eight - a group that consists of the top Republicans and Democrats in each chamber and the top Republicans and Democrats on the House and Senate intelligence committees.

In an interview with Reuters, Comey also said he would be leery of the Federal Bureau of Investigation trying to track propaganda in the United States, let alone take action against it, while acknowledging that it was a major problem for the USA political system.

There's no telling what kind of information was actually discussed in those meetings, but we do know that Democrat, Adam Schiff, the only Democrat allowed to go to that meeting, did come out and say there was absolutely nothing to confirm Trump's claims that there was a spy within his campaign. They disparage President Trump's tweets decrying "spygate" as the usual Trump piffle.

The second meeting is a reversal from the original plan brokered by the White House, which excluded Democrats.

Irate Woman Detained After Throwing Feces At Tim Hortons Staff In Langley
The video showed the unidentified woman arguing with the restaurant, presumably about being refused washroom access. Police in the area say the woman is no stranger to law enforcement and they have dealt with her antics before.

Meanwhile, rank-and-file Federal Bureau of Investigation agetns are coming forward to say they are willing to testify about the corruption of James Comey, Andrew McCabe, and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, The Daily Caller reported this week.

Former U.S. Secret Service agent Dan Bongino told Ingraham that "the biggest open question" in this entire Trump campaign surveillance controversy is, "What was the genesis moment in this campaign?" He said he had advised the administration to include Democrats but downplayed Trump's attacks, saying he doesn't worry about any lasting damage to the intelligence agencies.

Comey's comments on Wednesday follow former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper's conclusion in a new book that the Russian election meddling, which allegedly included illegal hacking and leaking of stolen information as well as propaganda, had a decisive influence in electing Trump. But they also highlighted the degree to which the president and his allies have used the levers of the federal government - in this case, intelligence agencies - to aide in Trump's personal and political defense. Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of SC was not in the meetings but, in a radio interview Friday, broke with the president to say that a "confidential informant is not a spy". "They acknowledged to us orally that they understand that they can't violate the Justice Department rules".

Schiff said he does not believe the meeting is appropriate, particularly because the White House was involved in organizing it.

Authorities Investigate California Explosion as Intentional
Authorities had not found an explosive device Tuesday night but were searching through debris that was left after the blast. One woman, who had skin peeling on her arm from burns, said, "Take care of my mother", McWilliams said.

"How will Republicans explain this to their grandchildren?" he asked in his tweet.

A top congressional Democrat is urging the Justice Department and the FBI to launch a criminal investigation into how a confidential informant's name made its way into media coverage.
