Venkaiah Naidu Rejects Congress-Led Impeachment Move Against Chief Justice:- In a shocking move Indian Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu rejected the notice for Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra's impeachment which has been proposed by Congress. It jeopardizes the judicial system, We will certainly move a petition in the SC to challenge this order.

"We will accept whatever the court says, but we do not want the CJI to have anything to do with it, be it the listing or anything else", Sibal said. Party spokesperson and former law minister Kapil Sibal questioned the vice president's hurry in deciding the matter.

The Congress party, which had spearheaded the Opposition's move for the Chief Justice's removal, has now indicated that it would move the Supreme Court in challenge against the Rajya Sabha chairman's decision.

The motion further states with regard to the Chief Justice of India that 'he too was likely to fall under the scope of investigation.' It further states that the Chief Justice of India 'appears to have ante-dated an administrative order'.

Sibal told the press that rejection of the motion was unprecedented because never has a motion, which has been signed by more than the required number of MPs in the Rajya Sabha, been dismissed like this in its preliminary stage.

The Rajya Sabha had in 2011 passed an impeachment motion against Justice Sen. Naidu continued with the deliberations till late last evening and spoke to K Parasaran, who was the attorney general during the Congress governments led by Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi and was also a member to the Upper House nominated by the party. "Based on all this, I have come to conclusion that this motion does not deserve to be admitted", Naidu said in his order.

The motion needs to be referred to a three-member committee, which normally should include a Supreme Court judge, a high court chief justice and a jurist.

The Supreme Court may decide the fate of the impeachment motion against Dipak Misra, but the Opposition may not find it easy to get the numbers to push it.

He was accompanied in the press conference by Congress Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha and nominated Rajya Sabha member K.T.S. Tulsi.

Naidu said, "I have applied my mind to all five charges made out in Impeachment Motion and examined all annexed documents".
