You're not crazy: The Instagram app just disappeared from Apple Watch

The Cupertino giant is working on "touchless gesture control" and "curved screens" for future iPhone projects, reports Bloomberg, that may help the company to stay ahead in the consumer tech industry. It allowed users to see recent photos from their timeline, comment, and see Instagram alerts all from the convenience of an Apple Watch.

Gesture controls have been around in popular phones since Samsung's Galaxy S4, yet we haven't ever seen them in use out in the wild; probably because you'd look a bit like a Harry Potter film reject attempting to levitate or transform your phone. We have to wait for Apple reveals such technology, as the company is known to make such bold moves. The technology could be useful for augmented reality, which is where Apple has put in a lot of effort in the past couple of years.

Although the OLED panel of the iPhone X curves at the bottom, that's mostly hidden from owners of the device - the goal is exclusively to make the bottom bezel as small as possible, by having the necessary screen drivers "under" it. The screen would gradually curve inward from top to bottom. As evidenced below, and noted by iDropNews, the iPhone concept "is narrower than the iPhone 8, ensuring it's comfortable to type with only one hand; and its curved design is more pleasant to hold when speaking on the phone". That division - which includes the App Store, AppleCare, Apple Music, iTunes and Apple Pay - topped $8.5 billion in the company's recently completed first fiscal quarter, up 13% year-over-year.

But every iPhone to date has used a visibly flat display. The gestures wouldn't need to be close to the screen like how Apple is developing its gesture feature.

Apple's iPhone X has an OLED screen that curves slightly at the bottom but isn't detectable.

Bloomberg reported that Apple is pushing to apply this non-contact technology to the new iPhone, quoting multiple sources.

All the customers buying any of the above three phones will also get 25% instant discount on domestic hotels at MakeMyTrip . Airtel is offering a cashback offer of Rs. 2000 along with a subscription to Airtel TV app until the 31st December 2018.

In addition to touchless aspects, there is also said to be a new screen design aspect in the works. That leaves ample room for Apple to do what it usually does, which is to arrive late to an idea but popularize it through smarter and better integration into its overall user experience.
