Waymo's class-leading self-driving tech uses LIDAR a system of lasers and sensors to see the world around
Waymo says that the I-Pace cars - the first premium self-driving electric vehicle to join Waymo's fleet - will provide up to 1 million rides a day. The high-end SUVs will operate alongside the company's existing self-driving Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivans and Lexus 450h SUVs.
John Krafcik, Waymo CEO also added, "In joining forces with Waymo we are pioneering to push the boundaries of technology".
"We made some comments over the weekend over the situation in Arizona, and those comments suffice for now", said Krafcik. Honda's vehicle lineup includes fuel cell and battery electric Clarity models, as well as conventional cars, SUVs, vans and a pickup truck.
The Waymo Jaguar I-PACE is now being shown at the New York International Auto Show.
Steve Smith, David Warner, Cameron Bancroft likely to get sanctioned
The ASC expects and requires that Australian teams and athletes demonstrate unimpeachable integrity in representing our country. On the face of it, the one-match ban imposed by the ICC, as well as a 100% match fee fine, might seem relatively lenient.
Waymo is competing with rivals General Motors Co and Uber Technologies to deploy such vehicles for the masses.
Waymo Jaguar I-PACEs, which will be equipped with Waymo's self-driving technology, will start testing later this year.
He added, "To serve the billion trips that occur on a typical day in the USA, they'd need about 35 million vehicles". The best-selling Jaguar vehicle is its first SUV, the F-Pace.
Ralf Speth, chief executive of Jaguar Land Rover, said: "With the Jaguar I-Pace we have a world-beating auto that's captured the imagination of customers around the world". Company executives said the talks and development had been underway for about a year.
Blast in Egypt kills 1, wounds 4, state-run news agency says
Photos on social media that Reuters could not independently verify showed a burnt out auto and smoke at the site of the blast. Health ministry spokesman Khaled Megahed said the casualties were taken to a military hospital in the Mediterranean city.
Given Waymo's recent announcement with another on the way according to Krafcik, it's clear that the company hasn't let the trade dispute stop them.
While this service is rolling out later in 2018, it will likely be a very limited test case in a certain area.
But other companies, including Waymo, are still testing - and Waymo is the only company that has vehicles on the road with no human backup drivers in the front seats to take over in an emergency.
Waymo's Arizona debut comes amid the recent news that an Arizona woman was struck and killed by a self-driving vehicle operated by Waymo's rival Uber. On Saturday, Krafcik said Waymo's system would have seen and avoided the pedestrian.
Trump Administration Plans to Ban Bump Stocks While Blaming Obama
President Donald Trump says his administration will "BAN" bump stock devices that "turn legal weapons into illegal machines". The comment period for the amendment is 90 days.
In the meantime, Uber has suspended its self-driving trials - and on Monday, Arizona revoked its licence to do so anyway.
