NASA's Next Planet Hunter Will Launch a 'New Era of Exoplanet Research'

Officials say they need more time to assemble and test the James Webb Space Telescope, which is now set to fly in 2020

This board joins asthe second board established by NASA, the first being the Standing Review Board.

The delay will have ramifications beyond the JWST team. This orbit - which no spacecraft has ever employed before - is incredibly stable, allowing TESS to stay aloft for decades without performing any engine burns, mission officials have said. A huge heat shield, the size of a tennis court, made of five extremely thin and fragile layers, must also unfold unhindered after arriving in its orbit. Meanwhile, each unfolding and refolding of the sun shield has taken twice as long as expected, further delaying work. Several tears across all five layers occurred during folding and deployment of the sunshield during testing. Andrucyk said they're making modifications such as the installation of Kapton springs to ensure the cables remain tensioned and "doghouse" mechanical fixtures that constrain any slack the cables might still develop. Engineers will then combine the two modules and test the fully assembled observatory and verify that all components work together properly. "We were rather optimistic in how we projected an [integration and testing] schedule", said Andrucyk.

Turkey hopes for further development of relations with EU - Erdogan
Borissov said that "I think that before the end of our EU presidency (the end of June) another EU-Turkey summit will be held". So far this incentive has not been realised and Erdogan is expected to press this point strongly in the talks.

NASA's one of the most-awaited project is yet to get a green signal for launch. This Independent Review Board (IRB) will be led by Thomas Young, "a highly respected person at NASA and in this industry", the agency said in a statement. As a result of the most recent delay, the space agency could exceed its $8.8 billion Congress mandated cap for the telescope. The increased number of workers is adding to the project's overall cost, the US Government Accountability Office reported last month.

"Webb is the highest priority project for the agency's Science Mission Directorate, and the largest worldwide space science project in USA history", said Robert Lightfoot, NASA's Acting Administrator, "All the observatory's flight hardware is now complete, however, the issues brought to light with the spacecraft element are prompting us to take the necessary steps to refocus our efforts on the completion of this ambitious and complex observatory". Included in the assessment will be any cost estimates that go above and beyond the current $8 billion cap. That requires Congress to formally reauthorize the mission after receiving reports from NASA on breach and its corrective actions. NASA even locked the JWST mirror in a vacuum chamber and exposed it to low temperatures to make sure it would operate correctly in space.

Snow forces NASCAR to postpone Cup race in Virginia
He was less than a lap away from a Daytona 500 win and has finished 14th or better in every race so far. "It was just time". His chances of winning again appear to have gone up now that he's with Stewart-Haas Racing, as Bowyer will surely confirm.

The device will be later set for the environmental testing at the observatory contractor of the project, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems in Redondo Beach, California. Northrop Grumman's project manager for Webb will report directly to C-suite level executives at the company "to help remove roadblocks to success within the company", the officials said.

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has seen its fair share of delays (and then some), but we had every reason to expect it would finally launch in about a year.

Twitter Will Start Banning Cryptocurrency Ads From Today
Representatives of Twitter stated that they were taking the action to protect those who used the social media platform. Going by the Bitcoin price reaction, cryptocurrency market showed resilience when Twitter enforced its ad ban.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - NASA is delaying the launch of its next-generation space telescope - its highest science priority - until at least 2020. Zurbuchen acknowledged that it created perception issues for future large space observatories, like the Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope (WFIRST), which itself is facing cancellation in the administration's fiscal year 2019 budget request.
