BROWNS REPORTS Cleveland Browns to sign former Ohio State RB Carlos Hyde He's coming home

While free agency hasn't brought that level of frenzy to the banks of Lake Erie, the Browns did come to terms with running back Carlos Hyde on a three-year deal.

Hyde started all 16 games for San Francisco last season, crafting 240 carries for 938 yards. And signing him to a three-year deal states the team's intentions for him as its bell-cow back. Barkley had a historically good showing at the NFL Combine, running a 4.40 40 yard dash and 41-inch vertical leap at 233 pounds, helping make the case that he is by far the best player available in the draft, regardless of position.

Others think that the Colts should snag Penn State running back Saquon Barkley if he's available. While they are expected to go after former Buckeye and Brown Terrelle Pryor in free agency, Hyde could be the only former Ohio State player on the roster when he signs.

Farewell, Washington - Kirk Cousins
Since Favre's retirement in 2010, the Vikings have tried a bevy of quarterbacks from draft picks to free agent signings. If he is willing to take a one-year "prove it" deal, the Jets should try to bring him in to give them a No. 1 WR threat.

Fells played with the Lions a year ago after three seasons in Arizona.

He'll join Duke Johnson in the Browns backfield and will be part of an offense that's also adding wide receiver Jarvis Landry and quarterback Tyrod Taylor in a pair of trades. Crowell is a tick better in the passing game as he averages eight yards per catch versus 5.8 for Hyde.

And as part of the Niners' Hyde replacement plan, former Minnesota Viking Jerick McKinnon is headed west on a four-year pact, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Hyde had a solid rookie season behind then starter Frank Gore, amassing 83 carries for 333 yards and four touchdowns.

Don't count on two high picks in the 2018 draft affecting the betting odds for the Cleveland Browns to improve on their 0-16 record from previous year.

Over his entire four-year career, he has never rushed for 1,000 yards. He also had 109 receptions for 634 yards and three touchdowns.
