Graham, who appeared on television for about six decades, was principally known for hosting the annual Billy Graham Crusades, which he began in 1947, until he concluded in 2005, at the time of his retirement.

The younger Graham went vegan at the start of 2017, before giving it up in the most spectacular fashion.

Graham also noted in Just As I Am that the queen's official position "has prevented her from openly endorsing our Crusade meetings".

While he tended to steer clear of endorsing candidates, he ended up becoming close friends with a number of presidents, in particular Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon.

Carson-Newman University mourned Graham's passing, saying lowered the institutions' flag has been lowered to half-staff in honor of him.

You can now pay utility bills with Google Tez app in India

It was to be Jean and Leighton Ford's last visit with Billy Graham - her older brother, his brother-in-law and fellow evangelist. "I finally gave in while pacing at midnight on the 18th hole", he said. We send out deepest condolences to the Graham family.

Billy Graham concluded his autobiography "God's Ambassador", with these words: "Someday you will read or hear that Billy Graham is dead". There was nobody like him! "A very special man", President Donald Trump tweeted.

Graham's reach was extensive; he reportedly converted more than 3 million people to Christianity throughout his career. Graham planned to become an Army chaplain but fell seriously ill and by the time he recovered, World War II was almost over.

"He loves those cakes - but it has to have the lard icing", said his son Franklin Graham, leader of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. His example was as inspiring as his preaching, Alexander said.

Given the title of "America's Pastor", Graham was ordained in Florida in 1943.

Don Jr.'s business trip to India raises eyebrows
CNBC-TV18's Real Estate Editor, Manisha Natarajan sat down with the Executive Vice President of the Trump Organisation. The organisation has five projects in India, making it the brand's largest market outside the United States.

Mr George W. Bush gave Dr Graham credit for helping him rediscover his faith and in 2010, when it was hard for Dr Graham to travel, Mr Barack Obama made the trip to the preacher's log cabin home in North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains. They are Buford Pusser, Dr. Billy Graham, Cash, John Rollins, Dr. Nat Winston and James F. Neal. Tirelessly spreading a message of fellowship and hope, he shaped the spiritual lives of tens of millions of people worldwide.

Former President Jimmy Carter credited Graham with having an "enormous influence" on his spiritual life.

Billy Graham, though, was caught making negative remarks about members of other religious groups.

Billy's answer: "He tried to do what he thought he should". "I had a private conversation with him at that time, where he expressed deep personal remorse and asked me to convey his honest apologies to the entire Jewish community". He would come to Maine to visit with Barbara and me, and he was a great sport. He was a man who received incredible adulation and love during his life, and yet he always said the first question he was going to ask when he got to Heaven was "why me?"

"And Rev. Graham said, 'Ron you and I have been friends for a long time, but if I do that I will be getting into partisan politics and that will hurt my ministry and I think you'll understand, ' which Reagan did".

Israel versus Iran, Hezbollah and Syria
This established a "de-escalation zone" which excludes Iranian forces and its proxies from Syria's border region with Israel. Some estimate Hezbollah has 10 times as many rockets as in 2006, many capable of hitting Tel Aviv and targets farther south.
