In his speech to the United Nations on Tuesday, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas will confront the USA decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

President Mahmoud Abbas' speech at the United Nations Security Council on Tuesday and world reaction to the speech, mainly U.S. and Israeli reactions, occupied a large segment of the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic newspapers on Wednesday. Abbas, Erekat said by way of defense, has "led the peace process and promoted the principle of the two-state solution".

"You have made it clear, with your words and with your actions, that you are no longer part of the solution". The 82-year-old Palestinian leader reiterated his claim that East Jerusalem would be the capital of the future Palestinian state and left the Security Council chambers right after speaking.
