Christa-Lee McWatters said wine from her Encore Vineyards in Summerland started shipping to Alberta moments after Premier Rachel Notley suspended a more than two-week ban on wine imports from B.C.

Notley said she felt Horgan had blinked but some say the blink was kind of squinty-eyed.

Horgan says B.C.is not backing down but is hoping cooler heads will prevail.

Notley isn't specifying the options being looked at, but on Thursday suggested there will be further retaliatory action if Alberta believes B.C.is trying to stall the Trans Mountain expansion.

"They've had a full week of the wine ban", said Bilous about B.C.

Notley did not say the ban would be permanently lifted, reserving the right to bring it back into force once more, depending on what happens with the pipeline dispute.

"I'm confident that the courts will not give B.C. rights it does not possess under our Constitution", she said.

Notley characterized B.C.'s move as unconstitutional, saying pipelines are a federal jurisdiction and that provinces have no authority to determine what does or doesn't flow through a federally approved pipeline. "They're our family next door and they support us with tourism", he said. "It's not that other wines are bad, but we love working with B.C".
